About us!

Most of the posts you'll see are written by me, Libby, while Tristan does most of the cooking. We've been dating since May of 2011, and both have a huge passion for anything related to food: eating it, cooking it, learning about it, everything! I like to try to keep our meals at least a little healthy, while Tristan likes to add in delicious, if unhealthy, foods (He sautes almost everything in so much butter!). I'm more of a baker, while he's more of a chef. Neither of us has had any training when it comes to cooking, we've just watched hundreds of hours of the Food Network, and read countless recipes online. We decided to start this blog when we realized that we make interesting and tasty dinners a few times a week, and don't often get to share them with more than a few people. We thought this would be a great way to share our love of cooking with the world, and hopefully get some advice and guidance from other food bloggers about what we could do to improve. Our combined favorite styles of food definitely focuses in Southwestern and Asian foods.

A little about us as individuals...
Libby: Graduated from UC Santa Cruz in March of 2011 with a degree in European History and a minor in Psychology, and has since been working as a tutor in a tutoring center in Menlo Park. I'm hoping to begin a Master's (possibly PhD) program at UNC - Chapel Hill in the 2013 school year, but if that falls through, I'm toying with the idea of opening a cafe. My favorite foods include: avocados, shrimp, cilantro, potatoes, mushrooms, onions and cheese (especially Brie!). It wasn't until a trip to Norway in 2010 that I finally rejected being a picky eater, and embraced a huge variety of food!

Tristan: The Chef! Though he's had no professional training, Tristan cooks like a master. He is constantly trying new techniques, adding seemingly random ingredients that turn out amazingly, and always makes sure his plating has a sense of sophistication. Cooking is definitely one of his biggest passions, the others including cars, technology and learning about really anything the world has to offer him. While not the most sociable person in the world, he's a sweetheart and a goof ball to those who are close to him. His favorite foods include: lime, garlic, shrimp, salmon, tomatoes, cheese (especially aged Gouda), and salted caramel.
